Volunteer Job Description: Millennium Stage Broadcaster (The Kennedy Center)

Position Title: Millennium Stage Video Broadcaster (The Kennedy Center)

Commitment: 1 or more 4-hour shift/week and substitute time as needed

Number of volunteers requested: 1

Available Shifts:   3:30-7:30pm day of week need varies based on availability and resources

Required Skills: Experience with professional video production is helpful

Duties: Every day of the year, Millennium Stage Broadcasters film The Kennedy Center’s 6pm Millennium Stage performances for live internet broadcast and on-demand archives.  A broadcaster’s primary responsibility is effective camera operation, ensuring that a high quality and consistent product is delivered to online viewers.  Broadcasters must respond well to instructions from the Director and work enthusiastically with the other members of the broadcast team, in-house production staff, and performers.  The broadcaster position offers a great opportunity to get hands-on experience with video production, audio production, web streaming, and filming live events.

The position requires several training sessions before working without supervision.
